O víkendu 17-18. srpna proběhl jeden z největších standardových turnajů v aktuální sezóně, kterého se hráči navíc mohli účastnit z pohodlí svých domovů.
Šlo o online MCQ na Areně, kterého se mohlo zúčastnit až 2 000 hráčů (leč přesný údaj jsem nedohledával). Byl to dvoudenní turnaj, když se první den hrálo systémem double elimination, tj. turnaj pro vás končí ve chvíli, kdy máte dvě prohry. Takto šlo dosáhnout až deseti výher. Poté následoval cut a nejlepších 128 hráčů postoupilo do dalšího dne, kde bylo na programu šest kol (tentokrát vás z turnaje eliminovaly tři prohry) a prvních šestnáct hráčů se kvalifikovalo na PT, respektive Mythic Championship V.

Pro fanouška českého magicu je určitě radostná zpráva, že mezi kvalifikovanými byli hned dva čeští hráči, kteří navíc hráli jeden z nejzajímavějších decků na celém turnaji - čtyřbarevné legendy s Kethisem!
Asi vás příliš nepřekvapí, že za deckem stáli vynikající deckbuildeři jako Ivan Floch a Standa Cifka. Standa se díky tomu kvalifikoval na PT poprvé od sezóny 2014/15 (pomineme-li "PT 25", kam dostal speciální pozvánku)! Druhý český hráč, který se kvalifikoval, byl Ondřej Stráský, který již tradičně na Areně dosahuje velmi dobrých výsledků (a nezdráhal se deck tajně okopírovat :) ).
Spíše, než jednotlivým hráčům, bych se ale chtěl věnovat těm nejlepším deckům, takže to vezmeme pěkně od těch nejhranějších.
1. BW Vampires (23,4% decků ve druhém dni)
Vampýři jsou jednoznačně nejlepší aggro deck na formátu. Mají výborné one-dropy, ale i silnou lategame - velký reach díky kartám jako Sorin a Sanctum Seeker, a zároveň jsou i velmi odolní vůči hromadnému níčení. Taky už se vám stalo, že jste měli Cry of the Carnarium, ale soupeř dal ve třetím kole přes Sorina do hry Championa of Dusk? Nemluvě o tom, že po sidu mají ještě k tomu často karty jako Gideon a Ajani...

2. Scapeshift (17,2% decků ve druhém dni)
Scapeshift byl ve druhém dni k vidění ve třech variantách:
- 18× Bant Scapeshift
- 3× Golos Scapeshift
- 1× Hybridní verze s Nexusy of Fate
Nejlepších výsledků dosáhli jednoznačně hráči, které se drželi osvědčeného základu - 4× Teferi, 4× Scapeshift a 4× Hydroid Krasis.
Osobně proti Scapeshiftu hraji hrozně nerad, a to výhradně díky Teferimu. Hrát midrange/rampu s Fieldy by podle mě bylo ok, pokud bych na to mohl jednoduše odpovědět Legion's Endem. Hrát ale proti instatnímu kombu, se kterým nemůžu nijak interagovat, to je celkem mizérie. Teferi prostě vstupuje do hry rovnou s emblémem a je očividně chyba, že během testingu RnD neodhalili, jak bídně se proti němu bude hrát. A jenom tak mimochodem - Teferi je také ideální odpověď na dvě z nejefektivnějších hate karet proti Field of the Dead, což je Alpine Moon a Blood Sun.

3. Monored Aggro (11,7% decků ve druhém dni)
Zdá se, že i v těch nejtemnějších časech má Monored stále dostatek příznivců. Stoupající popularitu lze vysvětlit mírnou stagnací esper decků a očekáváním toho, že Scapeshift je dobrý matchup. Realita je ale pro Monored stále krutá - ačkoli jde početně o třetí nejúspěšnější deck turnaje, tak jeho nejlepší pilot ve druhém dni obsadil až 45. místo.

Úspěch Scapeshiftu dost výrazně vytlačil z metagame Esper Midrange. Aktuálně se spousta hráčů snaží na Scapeshift vyzrát díky kombinaci Bolas's Citadel + Hero of Prectinct One, ale úplně dobrý tenhle matchup nebude asi nikdy.
Kromě toho má Esper trochu překvapivě problémy i s Vampýry, jelikož mají až příliš mnoho různých hrozeb a je dost obtížné, mít na všechno neustále vhodnou odpověď. Jedno je ale jisté - zatímco Scapeshift (ačkoli bych byl hodně překvapený, kdyby se Field of the Dead už nikde jinde neprosadil) a Vampýři nepřežijí rotaci, Teferi, Narset a Hero tu budou ještě další rok :)

Čísla hovoří jasně - Boros Feather byl deck s nejlepším winratem ve druhém dni! Posila v podobě Gods Willingu a snížení počtu Kaya's Wrath na formátu hrálo Featherovi do karet. Upřímně mě ale ani příliš nepřekvapuje nízká popularita decku, ne každému totiž vyhovuje styl hraní, kdy dáte jednu velkou bytost do hry a snažíte se ji ochránit pomocí protekčních spellů.
PS: Pokud vás náhodou trápí otázka, zdali se vyplatí v decku splashovat třetí barvu, tak i tady hovoří čísla dosti jasně - všichni hráči, kteří se s deckem kvalifikovali na PT, hráli přímočarou dvoubarevnou verzi.

Z klasických midrangů je vedle Esperu druhou nejpopulárnější volbou Bant. Už to není čistá rampa s hlavními payoffy v podobě Entrancing Melody a Mass Manipulation (však to taky proti Vampýrům a Scapeshiftu nejsou zrovna ideální karty), ale spíše deck na pomezí rampy a klasického goodstuff midrange.
Hlavní payoffy v decku jsou Nissa a Hydroid Krasis a mezi základní kameny patří také Risen Reef a Teferi (Time Raveler). Zbytek se liší v podstatě build od buildu. Populární je například i Deputy of Detention (proti zombie z Field of the Dead) a Trostani (přibrzdí Monored a Vampýry).
Jeden z účastníku druhého dne vsadil i na méně obvyklou verzi s Nightpack Ambushery a Frilled Mysticy, nicméně za tuto kreativitu byl "potrestán" výsledkem 0:3.

7. Kethis Legends (3,1% decků ve druhém dni)
Jednoznačně největší objev celého turnaje! Pokud příliš nevíte, o čem tenhle deck je, tak jde v podstatě o semi-kombo deck, který ale umí také velmi úspěšně hrát i dlouhé grindy midrange partie.
Základem decku jsou tři výše zobrazené karty. Funguje to tak, že se odemíláte pomocí Excavatora či Ashioka a poté aktivujete Kethise buďto pouze pro value, a když poté máte přístup k většímu množství Moxů, tak můžete začít generovat manu (jedna aktivace Kethise umožní zahrát každý Mox z hrobu pouze jednou, tedy nejde o infinite loop, jak se spousta hráčů mylně domnívá) a díky Excavatorovi si můžete odemlít v podstatě celý deck a poté vyhrát na Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, nebo jednoduše díky opětovnému hraní Oath of Kaya.
Jako velkou nevýhodu decku vnímám fakt, že po zpopularizování decku budete nazážet na spoustu mirrorů, které mohou být celkem velká ruská ruleta v tom, komu přijde dříve Ashiok a odemele jím soupeři klíčové kusy. Mirror vampýrů a Scapeshiftu ale také není dvakrát zábavná záležitost, takže je to vlastně "prašť jako uhoď"...

Kde jsou ty časy, kdy byl Find//Finality jeden ze základních pilířů formátu. Jadelight Rangera už dnes hrají jenom ti největší srdcaři. Hrát fair strategie, které nedělají nic očividně broken (jako je engine Kethise, nebo kombinace Hera a Citadely v Esperu), není úplně dobrý nápad na formátu, kde jsou Vampýři a Scapeshift nejhranější decky, jelikož pro ně jsou podobné decky velmi snadné matchupy.
Pokud bych už měl hrát nějaký BGx Midrange, tak bych sáhnul pro verzi s Command the Dreadhorde, která přece jenom umožňuje hrát alespoň trochu unfair magic.

Od vydání Teferiho, Time Ravelera je Nexus stále více a více na ústupu a paradoxně hraje nejvíce hráčů různé Scapeshift/Nexus Hybridy či více midrange verze s Risen Reefem, Nissou a Hydroid Krasisem. Na online platformě je samozřejmě největší překážkou to, že musíte celé dva dny hrát "nekonečná" kola s loopováním Nexusu, což musí být velmi vysilující (zejména co se mentálního aspektu týče).
Díky Scapeshiftu se také najde poměrně velké množství hráčů, kteří se nebojí hrát v sidu celý playset Unmoored Ega, což Nexusu také neprospívá a což je další důvod, proč je v současnosti populárnější midrange verze s planeswalkery a manovači.

Moje nejoblíbenější část rozboru každé metagame! K vidění byly tentokrát opravdu pěkné a zajímavé decky.
Nejvíce mne překvapilo Monogreen Aggro, se kterým uhrál velmi předsvědčivých 5:0 ve druhém dni Kavartech (Chris Kvartek, letošní účastník top8 na MC v Londýně). Llanowar into Steel Leaf Champion vypadá jako velmi dobrý způsob, jak přeracovat Scapeshift a Vampýry. Deck má ale zároveň i velmi dobrou lategame díky playsetům Nissy a Vivien (Arkbow Ranger).
Další pěkné a zároveň neobvyklé decky byly UR Wizardi, kteří těžili z nového přírůstku v podobě Lightning Stormkina, a také BUG Scapeshiftless rampa s Field of the Dead, která místo Scapeshiftu vsázela na tribal synergie s Risen Reefem a Yarokem.
Osobně se ale nemůžu odtrhnout hlavně od decklistu uživatele s nickem "Ithaqua_", jenž hrál velmi netradiční tempo verzi Grixisu. Jeho deck je velmi prapodivný mix karet. Na jednu stranu tu máme rychlé agresivní karty jako Knight of the Ebon Legion a Goblin Warboss, levnou disrupci jako Thought Erasure, Spell Pierce či Lightning Strike. Kromě toho je tu ale také sedm kusů Nicola Bolase, Bedevil, Kefnet, či Dreadhorde Arcanist. Velmi by mne zajímaly myšlenkové pochody autora při stavění decku.
